Concept Dieselpunk Fighter

For some practice, and inspired by based off James Taylor's hard surface videos and video game Warthunder, aswel as this video 'Paths of Hate' which is an amazing piece.

Not convinced I kept developing, but I liked how the downwards tail made it feel more insect like.
I feel this makes it look alot more complete and consise, and plan to have flaps that will maintain aerodynamics and aesthetic.
I feel like i have the basic aesthetic and silouette that I want, now I need to add detail and revise the exact shape.
I started with this reference, diagrams for the the British Hawker Typhoon Fighter/Bomber and the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-9 Jet Fighter.

I started with a basic shape, utilising the curve and radiator bulge of the Typhoon.
I knew I wanted some sort of gull type look, akin to a spread bird wing, forward swept and anhredral (tip lower than the wing base). And then thinking I may not want a traditional tail, but also understanding that stabilisers and elevators are important I decided for some sort of swing wing for stability when needed. (low speeds / manuevering / takeoff etc).
But without a tail, it felt bare, so I concepted some different tail styles in.
I blocked out and positioned the jets, inspired by the Mig 9's profile, and realised the tail would be under high stress from direct jet pressure and heat if I had a pure inverted tail.
I decided then to try an elevator approach, akin to modern jets that have fully rotatable small wings, I was also inspired by the Predator Drone that has full control in it's rear inverted V tail, having no ailerons on the wings.
Seeing as the swing wing felt out of place, I decided to start finalising it, and thought having a full fuselage with a wing that comes from inside would look better than the flat rear tail area.
